My approach
I am humanistic and holistic. So what does that mean…
A humanistic and holistic approach centers on the whole person, addressing emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual dimensions rather than simply targeting symptoms. It recognizes that many of the ways we come to know ourselves as adults, our coping strategies, beliefs, emotional responses, and ways of relating to others were shaped by the ways we had to adapt to our environments as kiddos.
Core to this perspective is a belief in human goodness, personal potential, and the capacity for growth and healing. Rather than viewing these ways of being as flaws or pathology, we can see them as meaningful strategies that once helped us survive, feel loved, or protect ourselves.
My approach relies on an empathic, compassionate, and supportive relationship as the foundation for deeper self-understanding, lasting change, and meaningful personal development.
That said, I am genuine.
I will hold space, listen, validate, and teach.
And I will also react, be honest, call you out at times (gently and after trust is built), laugh, and show emotion. I will also probably swear.

In addition to talk therapy, I offer EMDR, meditation, and somatic techniques, as well as CBT and solution-focused strategies. I pull from an eclectic mix of modalities, as therapy is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Please know that my personality shows up as a clinician; I will not just stare at you, nod, and ask “how do you feel about that…” Sometimes, but certainly not all the time.
I have my master’s in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology and a master’s in Early Childhood Education from Oakland University.
